Words can't express how most of us feel right now after losing our cousin. I remember coming to Adel for the summer sitting under the tree talking or sitting on granny's porch...just talking and catching up. Our lives took different paths with me moving to Adel after high school and you moving away from Adel after high school. I will always cherish the time we spent together!! Love Always Jackie Durr
Sweet Johnnie, I've thought about you many times over the years. I loved being in band with you in middle school and high school and we always had fun on the drill team. To this day, every time I hear a Bobby Brown song from the 88-89 era, I think of our Drivers Ed class and playing that cassette over and over while we drove around Adel and I-75!!! Even though we didn't get to reunite and catch-up in this life, I know we will in Heaven one day. Prayers for your precious family and loved ones. ~Abbie Godwin Barfield, Class '89
The absolute best sister-in-law one could ever be so blessed to have in their life. You were more like an actual sister to me. Supportive, loving, caring & protective are just a few of the many great attributes in which you possessed. You were there with me through most of Derrick's illness right up to the very day he transitioned. Scripture teaches us that [to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord]. This has always provided great consolation to my heart during times of loss of loved ones. I will truly miss you Johnnie but I know we will see each other again. Love Valencia Postell

My dear friend Johnnie. A beautiful soul. I will miss you. We played together as elementary school classmates. We laughed together as middle school band members. We worked and studied hard together as high school students. I thank God for the memories. So beautiful and pure is the love shared among childhood friends. "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!... Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." (1 John 3:1-2) Rest up, my friend. We will meet again! With love and condolences to Ms. Jean & the family - Kim McDowell Omoloju, Class of '89

Death brings pain that time can only heal, no words could ease what we truly feel; but with God, her joy is eternally sealed, and cherish her memories that death can't even steal. Lift up a smile for she is already in the paradise. Our deepest condolences. Bryant K Palmer and family.
