I am so saddened to have stumbled on this obituary after searching for a college friend. Ms. Jefferson was a quiet, nurturing, and motivating regal mother to so many in Jackson Ward (Gilpin Court) community. She commanded respect by walking into a room not just as a mother, but as a person. She's one of the last moms that wasn't to be played with at all. (My sister and I were just talking about her late daughter, Rainy, who took care of our mother at the Richmond Nursing Home.) I would like to send my sincere prayers and condolences to all of her children especially Carol and Jerome. May you all continue to honor her wonderful and beautiful legacy.
