Obituary For Queen Esther Hamilton

Queen Esther Hamilton, of Richmond Virginia, departed this life at Glenburnie Nursing Center, on February 19, 2024. She was born January 9, 1941, to the late William Lorenzo Washington Sr. and Rosa Lee Washington. She was devoted to her beloved grandparents, the late Esther Wise Hasting and John H. Haston. Her siblings and family that preceded her in death are Carolyn Washington, William Lorenzo Washington Jr., David Charles Washington, Bertha Bell Jones, Eunice Robinson, Deborah J. Wilson, David D. Humphries Sr. (brother-in-law) and Robert Edward Washington.

She leaves to cherish her memories 3 sisters, Rosa Lee Humphries, Alease Mays and Beverly McCormick (Trelton); 5 children, Charles William Hamilton,III (Vanessa), Letitia Renee Hamilton-Jackson (William), Trudy Michelle Hamilton, La Tanya Danielle Shirelle Hill and LaToya Wilkerson-Keel (Kevin); 12 grandchildren, Makea Tanae Hamilton, Cierra LeJardin Robertson, (George), Deshaun Deonte Charles Hamilton, Mon’Traus Don’Tarino Jackson, Karon Marquise Wilkerson, Danielle Chantelle Jackson, Ke Yanna Le Shay Hill, Khatiya ToQueenya Wilkerson, Ke Vonna Le Shelle Hill, Briana Esther Hamilton-Gray (Brandon), Kara LaDazia Hill, and Jailyn Amir William; 17 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The viewing will be held at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., Richmond, Virginia on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., after which, her wake will be held in Scott’s Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Sharon Baptist Church, 500 E. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens, 13389 Mountain Road, Glen Allen Virginia.

Ms.Queen you be missed with your meekness, love & wisdom you provided to me when I met u in 2015. The love respect u showed me I can keep in my heart and dancing laughing and hearing u say my son in law in hungry ( go to ur sister restaurant and get me some liver and onions or pigfeet and potatoe salad and when my mom passed you told me you may lost ur mom but u gain another mom.. love u and truly miss u mom..
