Audrey and family, I cannot express the sorrow that I have for you during your time of loss. Tim and Lil Robert became quite close when they met at Horizon Store. Not knowing that we were related, he began to tell me about the talks they shared and asked if I knew him. Once I explained how we were related, he talked about the man to man talks, which seemed to keep both of them steadfast and laughing about the challenges of life, and how blessed they both were.I have seen Lil Robert at the store many times after Tim's passing, he always had a genuine concern for my well-being and how I was adjusting. It is difficult to accept your loss because it is a pain that is unexplainable. It is a day to day and moment by moment flashback of memorie that only you can describe. I can tell you I enjoyed Lil Robert because of his gentle compassion for others. You did a great job in giving him the gift of caring for those who need a word, and being an example for those who thirst uplift, a joke or merely a smile. That was Lil Robert. Peace be with you. Bonnie
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Lil'Robert. I'll always remember him from childhood to adulthood. We attended Sunday School together for many years at St. John Baptist Church, Charles City- Wayside. which He and I both enjoyed. We spent many summers together as my parents watched over us. During those summers when he stayed with us during the daytime hours, he never disrespected my mother, father, or grandfather (Uncle Doc). I'll always hold that in my memories. He was a good saxophone player, excellent athlete, and dresser, always clean. And the cheerleaders loved him. Whenever you played against him you had better bring your "A" game. He led his JV basketball team in points and rebounds as a point guard, that's impressive. That year he was voted Most Valuable Player unanimously. I'll always remember the summers we worked together at Dogham Farms Estates. We would save our money to go school shopping. Audrey would take us to Richmond, drop us off on Broad St, and Bobby would pick us up in front of Thalhimers. Those were some good times. Thanks, Audrey. As we grew older we didn't see that much of each other, but when we did, we shared pleasantries, wished each other well, and went our separate ways. I'll see you on the other side "MY Brother". Please accept this from not only me (Johnny Jones), but the entire Jones family; Tommy, Kathy, and Jerry. You all are in our Prayers.
I worked with Rob at Stone Container, he would always keep me laughing, I couldn't wait to come to work just to hear what he had to say.a/f/a Kim Bradby.
