Mr. Cosby was always the sweetest man whenever I had the opportunity to be around him. I met him through his grandson Jabari! Not having a real relationship with either of my own grandfathers, I always admired and the amount of love and adoration that Mr. Cosby showed for his J. He will surely be missed! Sending love and prayers of comfort to the family! Sending love and prayers to my dear friend Jabari and the rest of the family!

Mr. Rufus Cosby was a true gentleman and an inspiration to many of us who worked for the Greater Richmond Transit Company. Though he was a leader of the Union, Mr. Cosby served as a role model and mentor for many of us in management. Several young African Americans who became CEOs/leaders in the transit industry, including Matt Tucker, Vida Covington, Frank Martin, Will Scott, Freddie Fuller, etc. were just as impacted by Mr. Cosby as we were by Henry Church and Rollo Axton. Thank you to the family and friends for letting us share Mr. Cosby's greatness. Keith T. Parker
To the Cosby and Reid family. You have our deepest sympathy. Rufus was a great friend and we deeply miss him and his humor. RIP my friend we love you. Ronald and Anna Mack
It hard to type this, because I know my friend/family unconditionally loved grandpa. Thoughtful, wise, caring and completely loved. I remember Mr. Cosby giving Jabari advice when we were younger. And of course as kids...we brushed it off. Having a good night was more important...lol.
Slowly through the years Jabari has used that wisdom to blossom. This patriarch inspired a lot of people.

My sincere condolences. I only remember meeting your grandfather once. However, I was able to see the awesome man he was right away. It was also so awesome to see the close relationship you two had and the love you both had for one another. It was great to see and made me smile. Not everyone can say they have a close relationship with their grandfather. You did. May the loving memories you have bring you comfort and peace.
