Sharlene E. Marsh Battle, Age 73 departed this life on Saturday, March 9, 2024 in her home in the East End of Richmond, Virginia. She was born to Madie Billie Marsh and David Wells in the Fulton area of Richmond, Virginia. She often reminisced that Fulton was full of many fond of her family. She attended Webster Davis Elementary School and also attended East End High School. She accomplished and furthered her general educational development, which lead to her employment by the United States Government for many years. Sharlene additionally worked as an accountant. She worked hard for years to provide for her home, family and was dedicated to complete whatever she started. Sharlene was married to Walter Battle (Deceased) and she often shared various food memories with her close friends.
Sharlene was a dedicated member of the Temple of Judah Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Melvin Williams, Jr. Sharlene was a faithful and cherished member of the Temple of Judah Ministries for many years. She was admired for her style and she loved her shoes and boots. She always greeted you with her big warm smile. Even through her various health challenges she held strong to her faith in God. She would often say “God got me” for truly she believed in the power of God as her Eternal Creator. Sharleene genuinely was loved by so many of her caring neighbors, close friends, church members as well as her loved ones. She loved listening to her Pastor, attending her church, spending time with friends and caring for others. Sharlene celebrated life with vast dedication, love and the determination to stay strong in her faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Sherry Clark, Aldonia Baskerville and Georgette Harris, five grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren, One Sister, Carolyn Jones, Two Brothers, David Wells and Marvin Marsh, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E., Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held Monday, March 18 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19 at Scott's Chapel. Bishop Melvin Williams, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

My deepest condolences to the family I meant Ms.Sharlene at Kroger store on Laburnum Ave. when I was working there and she was always warm and congenial and I met her each time with a beautiful smile we begin to talk and share with each other and she would often tell me about her family and the things that she had dealt with even with her health but she always kept a positive attitude and knew that God was the source of her strength I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts and certainly know she will be missed.
