Walter J. Smith, 96, of Richmond, formerly of Elizabeth, NJ, died June 16, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie A. Smith and daughter, Maxine Smith.

Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis A. Taylor (Arthur) and Cheryl J. Wiggan; son, Duane Smith (Sheryl); 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; host of great great and great great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Blvd. Rev. Earl Brown, officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, June 24 at Woodbridge Gardens, Woodbridge, NJ.
