Obituary For Willie Alexander Coles
Willie A. Coles, 79, of Ashland, VA, died May 24, 2023. Surviving are his wife, LaVerne F. Coles; two daughters, Dina C. Smith (Joe) and Tarita A. Coles; two granddaughters, India and Erica Smith; niece, Keya O. Butler, great nephew, Blair A. Mitchell; great niece, Jordan N. Epps; host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held Wednesday, May 31 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 1 at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church, 7204 Bethlehem Road. Rev. Angelo Chatmon, officiating. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 2 at Greenwood Memorial Park.

Billy was our History Professor...he knew everything about our family who lived before us! I could listen to him for hours telling stories about our folk! He was an avid hunter too. My cousins and I would run to his house when we saw the pick up truck pull in his yard after a hunt with his buddies to see what they got! I miss him already! Man what a Man!!
