A Celebration of Life for Deacon Ron Jones

on Jones was the 12th child of 13 children born to the late Jim Jones Sr. and Willie B. Scott Jones. He was born March 11, 1964, in Carpenter, MS.
A Time To Love
He began his education at Free Mount Head Start Center in Carpenter, MS, from there to Crystal Springs Elementary School, Crystal Springs Junior High, and Crystal Springs High School, graduating in 1982. He began his college education at Utica Junior College and Hinds Community College - Utica Campus, majoring in Vocational Welding, 1983-
1984. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a very early age. He began his Christian journey at White Oak Missionary Baptist Church of Carpenter, MS, under the leadership of the late Reverend C. P. Curtis. The church would eventually be renamed Greater White Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
Ron was a proud deacon of Greater White Oak M.B. Church under the leadership of Reverend Lonzo McClure, Sr. He held offices as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent, and President of the Cemetery Commit-tee. Ron was also the President of the #2 Copiah and Adjoining Counties Sunday School Convention for over 30 years;
State President of the MS Association of Church Ushers, and President of the Utica/Hinds District of the MS Association of Church Ushers. He was the Chaplain for the Southern Region Conference of Church Ushers and the Utica National Alumni Association. He was a member of Seven Star Lodge #259 for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Friends of Utica.
Ron Jones retired in December 2021, from Hinds Community College, Raymond Campus, where he was employed as the Warehouse Supervisor for 38 years. He held leadership as a mentor for Community Service Students for Hinds Community College for more than 25 years.
A Time to Die
With strong faith, resiliency, and sheer determination, Deacon Ron continued to defeat the odds. Then in May 2026, an unforeseeable and unexpected health challenge presented itself and interrupted the recovery process. Deacon Ron once again fought valiantly, but he eventually succumbed to his illness. He departed his life on Friday, May 8, 2026 at home.
Deacon Ron Jones were preceded in death by his parents: Jim Jones Sr. and Willie B. Scott Jones; sisters: Mary Alma Jones, Stella Faye Jones, Rosella Jones, Margaret Ann Conners, Flora Jean Funches, and Carrie Jones Vance; brothers:
Otta Clyde Jones, Ernest Lee Jones, William Coleman, Jimmy Lewis Harris, Johnnie Frank Harris, Archie L. Jones, and Don Jones; nieces: Jessie M. Church, Barbara Ann Jones, Debbie Hampton, Christine Jones, Bernice Wilson; and nephews: Tommy Lee Jones and Craig Jones.

Eleven Grandchildren: Octavian Marbra, Quantavian Marbra, Aniya Marbra, Quan-tavia Marbra, Destiny Young, D'Mya Young, Dakota Young, Danyon Hughes, Dovian Hughes, Darren Young, and Tucker Mitchell. One brother-n-law; George Conner, one sister-n-law: Denise Jones both of Marrero, LA; special aunt:
Ruth Jones, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, special cousins Mollie Johnson and Charles Jones and a close friend, Clarence Wilson.

Ron was the BEST DRESSED DEACON we know. He walked the walk, talked the talk and song the songs, giving God all the praise. You will truly be missed.

Ron Jones was the epitamy of servant. He loved, loved his church and his family, He always bragged on Vacation Bible School at his church every summer and the part he would be involved in. I will truly miss him. He is resting now in God's arms.
Uncle Ron, you were the steadfast backbone and the rock of our family that held everything together when life got heavy. Your strength, love, and dedication made an indelible mark on all of us. While your presence is deeply missed, your legacy will live on in our hearts, and we promise to make you proud by honoring your memories and keeping your legacy alive. To my dear cousin. Thank you for being the modern day disciple that God put amongst us. You always was kind, respectful, loving, caring, and just an Angel among us. I want to thank you for our relationship and friendship. You were always the same no matter where or what you were doing. You understood your assignment here on earth and God is well pleased. You were a faithful servant and most of all you loved and took care of the family. Your physical presence is already missed but your spirit will forever remain among us. Thank you for sharing the love of Jesus to all who encounter you and crossed your path. You were the epitome of how we should treat each other. Cousin, well DONE, you have received your crown. I know you were welcomed with open arms and started signing those hymns of zion. Precious Lord take my hand and the Father said come my dear son, your work has been completed on earth and welcome to the place where you are restored and healed. You will truly be missed. The zoom calls, the region conferences , Arkansas State Day and all of the extra events that I had the pleasure of fellowshipping with you will now have absent melody. You always constantly reminded us that you were practicing for the Greater Reward .It will never be another like you . To the family I pray that your comforted in knowing that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. I can just imagine him sing with angels....

I will forever remember my brother, cousin, and friend showing the joy and happiness of a playful kid in the Caribbean Sea during a trip that we took. Ron has helped so many family members and others. The time has come for him to rest in our heavenly Father's home which is so greatly deserved at this moment in time. Ron Jones was truly one of a kind, a man who faithfully lived a life of serving others without hesitation, also with a genuine loving and kind heart. Ron was a rock in the community and had a profound impact on so many people.
