The funeral services for the late Mr. Alfonzo Jackson, who departed this life on Thursday, June 11, 2026, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Shipp's Funeral Home Chapel in Sylvester, Georgia. Pastor Nick Hillery will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia.
Mr. Alfonzo Jackson was born on July 31, 1959 to Mr. and Mrs. Willie James and Martha Lee Timmons Jackson in Sylvester, Georgia. He was the fourth child of six children.
Alfonzo was educated in the Worth County Public School System.
Alfonzo gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined the Brown Chapel CME Church in Sylvester, Georgia.
Alfonzo, affectionately known as โGator Baitโ, was a jack-of-all-trades: Auto Mechanic, Carpentry, Plumbing, etc. He loved his family and loved to eat.
Alfonzo gave up this busy walk of life on June 11, 2026 at WellStar MGC Medical Health Center in Augusta, Georgia. His parents, a brother Charlie Will Jackson, a sister Evelyn Polk, a brother-in-law John Lewis, a niece Tijuana Brown, and a nephew Kowalski Lewis, have all preceded him in death.
Alfonzo leaves to cherish his memories his sisters Lora Lewis, Gloria Youmes, Debra Jackson, all of Sylvester, GA; nieces Shikinah Tukes, Shalonda Polk, Angela Jackson; nephews Marcus Lewis, Leon Stephens, James Youmes; sister-in-law Vivian Jackson of Hudson, NY; brother-in-law James Polk; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and other friends.
