Obituary For Alicia Wheeler-Hill

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Alicia Wheeler-Hill of 121 Dewberry Drive, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Tuesday, November 10, 2021 at Piedmont Midtown Healthcare in Columbus, Georgia, will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shepard Memorial Garden in Sylvester, Georgia. Eulogy will be given by Reverend Esau Green. Alicia Wheeler Hill was born on September 1, 1972 in Sylvester, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. J. C. and Ruby Wheeler. She departed her earthly life on November, 9, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Alicia was educated in the Worth County Public School System, and graduated from Worth County High School in 1990. She furthered her education by obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education in 1996, receiving her Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Central Florida in 2000, her Specialist Degree in Special Education in 2004, and her Doctorate Degree in Higher Education Leadership in 2008 from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida and her Reading Endorsement English Certification in 2010. Alicia was currently employed by the Worth County Board of Education as a Special Education Specialist. She was a member of the Kappa Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Alicia gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Thompson Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Esau Green. Alicia was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Carlton Hill, Sr. This union was blessed with two sons and a stepdaughter. Alicia was a loving wife and mother, She reared her children based on the scripture Proverb 22:6, β€œTrain up a child in the way he should go; And when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Alicia’s mother-in-law, Mae Frances Hill, and her grandmothers, Mary Wheeler, Emily Brown, have all preceded her in death.

Alicia leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Carlton Hill, Sr.; two sons, Carlton Hill, Jr., Carlson Noah Hill; a stepdaughter, Kerry Ann Jackson; two grandsons, one granddaughter; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. and Ruby Wheeler; a sister, Maria Wheeler, a brother, Jason Wheeler; five brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, seven aunts, nine uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Mrs. Hill (Ms.Wheeler) at the time was a teacher at Worth county middle school. She was well known in my family and grew up in the same church. The interactions I had with her as a teacher was incredible. She made me feel safe and I learned so much from here. This was back in 2007-2008. I will miss you cousin so sorry

I'm so heart broken my beautiful niece isn't with us now God has a special Queen in heaven she took care of me when I got sick last year with the first outbreak of covid19 I was sick for over a month she called me everyday to check in on me she bought groceries for me and her uncle for over 2 months she volunteered.
