The funeral services for the late Mrs. Annie Maude Jackson Washington, who departed this life on Monday, June 8, 2026, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shipp's Funeral Chapel in Sylvester, Georgia. Reverend Ray Drake will deliver the Eulogy.
Mrs. Annie Maude Jackson Washington was born on December 3, 1951 in Sylvester, Georgia. She was the seventh child of Mr. Jessie Jackson, Sr. and Mrs. Beatrice Sinclair Jackson. Annie joined Powell Chapel Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Ernest Jackson.
Annie was educated in the Worth County Public School System. She graduated from high school with honors in 1969. After high school, Annie matriculated at Edward Waters College (University). She graduated with Honors, attaining a B. A. Degree in Sociology.
Annie was married to Mr. James Mack Washington.
Annie worked in many different areas of Public Relations. Her last job with The American Federation of Labor Unions was the most rewarding. She was a Field Service Representative and Policy Manger. Annie helped implement some policies that are still in use today through her concepts and strategies, working with government officials on the local and national levels to enforce laws equally and effectively.
Annie was a caring and giving person with an infectious smile and she never met a stranger. Although her physical presence is no longer here, her spirit remains in the lives of those she touched here and abroad.
Annie gave up this busy walk of life on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. She was precede in death by her husband, James Mack Washington; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Sr. and Beatrice Sinclair Jackson; her brothers B. C. Jackson, Willie Jackson, Jessie Jackson, Jr., James Jackson, Wilmer Jackson; her sisters Irene Jackson, Mae Beulah Jackson, Hazel Jackson Durrell, Minnie Jackson, Ruby J. Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Trucilla Jackson
Annie leaves to cherish her memories her son, Askari Jackson of Albany, GA; two stepchildren, Dexter and Mark Henry; her grandchildren, Akari Jackson, Keymaya Jackson, Tyler Cheevers, Quintavious Johnson, Nevaeh Richardson; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Mozelle Jackson, Tommy Jackson, both of Sylvester, GA; six sisters-in-law, Marie T. Davis of Sylvester, GA, Sandy W. Meadows of Montezuma, GA, Carolyn S. Washington of Newark, NJ, Eva Washington, Sylvia Daniels, both of Augusta, GA, Josephine Jackson of Sylvester, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
