“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”
Psalms 34:18
With heavy hearts and unwavering faith, we celebrate the life of Arthur Dewayne Carridine Jones, affectionately known as “Wayne”, who entered Eternal Rest on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the age of 37
Wayne was born on February 10, 1989 in Tifton, Georgia to Edna Smith and Dewayne Carridine. At the age of two, he was lovingly adopted and raised by Mildred Jones and Eddie Jones in Orlando, Florida, where he grew up surrounded by unconditional love, a strong Christian foundation, and the support of family and friends.
A proud graduate of Magnolia High School, Class of 2007, Wayne was known for his contagious laughter, outgoing personality, and ability to make others smile. He never met a stranger and brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Wayne accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He found great joy in attending church, worshipping the Lord, and listening to gospel music. He was also a cherished resident of a Central Florida group home, where his kind heart and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on caregivers and friends alike.
Wayne leaves to cherish his precious memories his birth parents, Edna Smith and Dewayne Carridine; his devoted adoptive parents, Mildred Jones and Eddie Jones; his beloved siblings, Marry Ann Jones, Justine Jones, Santabia Allen, Clifford (Rena) Jordan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, caregivers, church family, and dear friends.
Though our hearts mourn his passing, we rejoice in knowing that Wayne is at peace in the presence of his Savior. His laughter, faith, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant…. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
Matthew 25, 23
