The funeral services for the late Mrs. Betty Ann Walker, who departed this life on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia, will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia. Pastor Nick Hillery will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia. Ms. Betty Ann “Bet Ann” Walker was born on May 1, 1952, in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late John Wesley Walker, Jr. and the late Rosa “Sista” King Brown (Tom Brown). She was the oldest of seven children.
Betty was educated in the Worth County Public schools and graduated from J.W. Holley High School in 1970. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Macedonia Baptist Church.
Betty Ann worked for many years at Brigadier Homes and as a machine operator at Suburban Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed sewing by trade, fishing, puzzling, playing cards, watching basketball, and spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her beautiful smile and her infectious laugh.
Bet Ann peacefully departed from this earthly life on April 25, 2023, at the age of 70. She is preceded in death by her parents, her dear sister, Georgia Renee Brown and her loving great-grandmother, Minister Rosa Lynn McCray.
Bet Ann leaves to cherish her memories her three beautiful children, Makeba (Jeffrey) Clark of Athens, Georgia, Kenyatta Walker of Jacksonville, Florida, and Monique Walker of Albany, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Janieria Dupree of Athens, Georgia, Demonta Walker, Jaylen Walker, Keniya Walker, Hayliee Walker, all of Sylvester, GA, Jordyn Clark of Athens, Georgia, Kennedee Walker of Ashburn, Georgia; her siblings, Charlie James of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Jane Elaine Brown, Anthony Brown, Bontressa Brown, Vontreasa Brown , all of Sylvester, Georgia, Daron Brown of Oak Harbor, Washington; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special cousin, Sandra Greene Marshall of Sylvester, Georgia.
