Deuteronomy 31;6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will never leave your nor forsake you.”
A TIME TO BE BORN… Carlton Derek Crawford was born on January 6, 1960 in Cordele, Georgia to the late Mr. James “Talley” Crawford, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Francis Odoms Bailey.
A TIME TO LEARN… Carlton was educated in the Worth County Public School System and graduated from Worth County High School in 1979. After graduation, Carlton enlisted and served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Upon leaving the Corps, he worked for over twenty years at Target Distribution Center and for Roy’s Carpet Cleaning Service. In his spare time, Carlton enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking wild game, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson, Joshua.
Carlton was a very outgoing and caring man, who would strike up a conversation with anyone that was willing to listen. He would literally give you the shirt off his back, and if that wasn’t enough, he give his pants, too!
A TIME TO DEPART… Carlton gave up this busy walk of life on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Myron “Beave” Smith.
A TIME TO CHERISH… Precious memories of Carlton will live on through his loving and devoted daughter, Chantelle Nicole Crawford; his grandson, Joshua Crawford; his brothers, Fredrick “Ricky” Smith, James “Huck” (Gloria) Crawford, Jr., Darryl (Tia) Bailey; a sister, Venus “Pat” Marshall; a special goddaughter, Ebony Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
