Mr. Claude “Chuck” Robinson, Jr. departed this life on June 17, 2026. At the request of the family, the remains have been cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Jones Chapel AME Church in Sylvester, Georgia.

Claude “Chuck” Robinson Jr., 77, of Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026. A man of remarkable intellect, quiet dignity, and unwavering pragmatism, he leaves behind a profound legacy of leadership, service, and devotion to his family.

Born in Bleckley County (Cochran) Georgia, "Junior", as he was so affectionately called by his mother, was raised in and attended school in Sylvester, GA. His dedication to excellence was shaped early in life under the guidance of his parents: his mother, the late Orrie Adams Robinson, a revered educator, and his father, the late Claude Robinson, Sr., a World War II Navy veteran. In 1966, Chuck graduated as class Valedictorian from J.W. Holley High School. He went on to attend Morehouse College, an institution that further solidified his commitment to leadership and community, receiving a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1970. While at Morehouse, he became a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. As a young man of deep conviction, he attended the funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a historic honor that reflected his character and one he carried with quiet humility throughout his life.

Chuck was a man of action who approached life’s responsibilities with logical execution and a strong work ethic. After graduation from Morehouse College, he and his family relocated to San Jose, California, where he enjoyed a storied career with Hewlett Packard. It was during that time that his professional success, sharp mind, and undeniable presence earned him national recognition, which included being featured in Black Enterprise magazine during the 1980s. A man of diverse talents, he possessed a lifelong love for music and sports. He possessed the admirable ability to command a room with a quiet and steady presence while offering strength and practical wisdom to those around him.

Above all, Chuck’s greatest pride were his relationships with God and his family. He poured his heart into being a devoted husband and a guiding force for his two sons, teaching them the values of hard work, responsibility, and familial duties.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 57 years, Frances Joyce; his sons, Kerrell Robinson, Sr. and Chioke (Ellisa) Robinson; bonus sons, Patrick McMullen and Jamal Watkins; bonus daughter, Kimberlie Miller; foster children, Tamika and Clarence; cherished grandchildren, Harvey (Naomi), Kerrell Jr., “the twins” Antonio and Francisco, Masai, Christina, Francessa, DeShauna, Jeremiah and Aaron; five great grandchildren, Kerrell III, Vincot, Rio, Zenovia, and Harvey III; sisters, Thelma Robinson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Annie (Lewis Edward) Greene and Peggie Thomas of Sylvester, GA; brother, James Robinson of Augusta, GA; sisters-in-law Betty Gray of Hutchinson, KS and Lily (Fred) Walker of Moultrie, GA, Adella and Mary Lou Marlin of Sylvester, GA and Vernita Marlin of Centerville, GA. To cherish his memory, he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, a special network of adopted grandchildren, cousins, friends and colleagues.
