Obituary For Delois Greatho Farrie Robertson

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Delois Farrie Robertson of 137 Towncreek Drive, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at her residence, will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Shingler, Georgia. Mrs. Delois “Coot” Farrie Robertson was born on January 23, 1947 in Turner County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis “Bo” and Jonnie A. “Sele” Poke Farrie. She was the youngest of four children.

Delois attended schools in the Turner County Public School System and graduated from Eureka High School in 1967.

Delois confessed her faith in God at an early age, and joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler, Georgia. She loved the church and attended faithfully until her health declined.

Delois was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Artice Robertson. This union was blessed with two children.

Delois worked in the textile industry until her mother became ill. She then became her mother’s caregiver. A devoted mother and grandmother, Delois was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her daughter, Angela, and her only grandson, MarKevian. Anyone who knew Delois knew why these two were the stars in her eyes, and the only things that ever mattered to her. She deeply cared for her family, friends and neighbors.

On Thursday, January 19, 2023, at her home in Sylvester, Georgia, Delois made her joyous transition to her Eternal Resting Place, surrounded by her loved ones. Her parents, her husband, a son, Daniel Robertson, her sisters, Ethel Lee Holley, Dora Mae Jackson, her brother, Eddie Joe Farrie, her stepmother, Annie Farrie, and her stepbrother, Johnny B. Holmes, have all preceded her in death.

Delois is survived by her daughter, Angela Robertson of Sylvester, Georgia; a grandson, MarKevian Robertson of Sylvester, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Pat Holmes of Ashburn, Georgia; two nieces whom she loved as daughters, Phyllis Diane Richardson of Sylvester, Georgia, Lawanda Jackson of Orlando, Florida; two best friends, Lillian Edwards, Gloria Youmes; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
