Obituary For Edna Mae Walker

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Edna Walker of 1195 Old Statenville Road, Apt. B-46, Valdosta, Georgia, who departed this life on Sunday, September 22, 2019 will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia with Dr. Sandra Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia.

Mrs. Edna Mae Walker was born on February 27, 1934 in Worth County, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Lillie Mae Walker Lewis.

Edna was educated in the Worth County Public School System.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Cleveland C. Walker.

Edna was a very loving mother and grandmother. She worked several different jobs throughout her life. She worked for many years as a housekeeper for Dr. and Mrs. Robert and Patsy Morgan, and later in her life she worked for Nether’s Pork Skins. At Nether’s, Edna worked as a manager until the time of her retirement.

Edna gave up this busy walk of life on Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2019 at her residence in Valdosta, Georgia. Her parents, her husband, Cleveland Walker, her brothers, Sam, Joe, Alex, and John L., her sisters, Gold, Eunice, And Lizzie, all have preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Vianolia Lee of Sylvester, Georgia, Carolyn Gordon of Valdosta, Georgia; six grandchildren, Beverly Lewis, James Lee, Eric Lee, all of Sylvester, Georgia, Lisa (Philip) Robinson of Conyers, Georgia, Lorenzo (Thajuana) Richey of Sumner, Georgia, Wanda Richey-Potts of Locust Grove, Georgia; sixteen great grandchildren, twenty-eight great great grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Washington of Toledo Ohio; a very special niece, Debra Fields of Valdosta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
