The funeral services for the late Mrs. Frankie Ezell Dennis of 810 S. Lee Street, Ashburn, Georgia, who departed this life on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her residence, will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Turner County Civic Center in Ashburn, Georgia with Elder Dr. Larry Coffee officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. Frankie Lou Ezell Dennis was born on March 8, 1931 in Worth County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Abie and Gertrude Williams Green.
Frankie was educated in the Worth County Public School System. She finished the 7th grade and graduated with “Wisdom”.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. William H. Dennis, Sr.
Frankie was a member of the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith in Ashburn, Georgia. She served as a member of the Deaconess Ministry, and was Mother of the Church until her health began to fail. The Church bestowed upon Frankie the title of Mother Emeritus.
Frankie was an entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses in the Ashburn community: a record store, a candy store, and a florist. She owned and operated the first African-American flower shop in Ashburn.
Our Loved One gave up this busy walk of life on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family. Her parents and a son, Curtis Ezell, have all preceded her in death.
Frankie leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband, William H. Dennis, Sr.; her children, Jesse (Sylvia) Jackson of Ocala, Florida, Charlie C. Ezell, Jr., Earnestine Jackson, both of Ashburn, Georgia, Donalene (Sammie) Mosely of Albany, Georgia, Gloria Gordon of Ashburn, Georgia; stepchildren, Elizabeth Dennis, Mattie Bell Glenn, Doris Dennis, William H. (Christine) Dennis, Jr., Robert (Jackie) Dennis, Eddie Dennis, all of Cordele, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, China Ezell of Arabi, Georgia; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Pecola Austin of Burlington, New Jersey; a brother, Nathaniel (Ellen) Green, Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters-in-law, Jessie A. Ezell of Cordele, Georgia, Mae Jackson of Tifton, Georgia; aunt, Eula Mae Springer of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, sorrowing friends, and her Church of God by Faith church family.
