Mr. Horace Johnson, Jr. was born on January 10, 1947 in Miami, Florida to the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace, Sr. and Annie Lou Johnson.
Horace did seasonal work with apple, orange, and watermelon crops until he became disabled in 1982.
Horace gave his life to Christ and joined the True Revelation Church, now known as True Revelation, Incorporated.
Horace was a very devoted companion, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family and would do anything for them, or for anyone. He loved listening to Keith Sweat, his favorite musical artist. After losing his sight to glaucoma, Horace was still able to do many things. He taught himself how to maneuver around the house on his own through feel and touch. He was an amazing man with a great heart and memory.
On October 23, 2023, Horace transitioned from this earthly realm to Eternal Rest. His parents, three sisters, Juanita Nelson, Freddie Dee Williams, Ocie Mae Johnson, a great grandson, Karnelle Jackson, two sisters-in-law, Willie Bell Butts, Elizabeth Brown, and a brother-in-law, Willie S. Jenkins, have all preceded him in death.
Horace leaves to cherish his memories his loving companion, Essie Moye; three daughters, Angela (Anthony) Murray, Mary (Roy) Woolbright, Cassandra Walker; a son, Willie Barnes; grandchildren, Zontavius Farley, Sr., Da’Jun Evans, Quandrekus Moye, Contasha (John) Huntley, Lasasha (Cornelius) Gaines, Ah’Lyrica Walker; great grandchildren, De’Autrea, Zontavius, Jr., Jamir, Tale’Jah, Nykheria, Nijhay, Ka’Layah; sister, Hazel Johnson; brothers-in-law, Johnny Ray Jenkins, Bennie Lee (Shonna) Jenkins, Raymond Lee Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou (Raymond) Parker, Jacqueline (Tony) Carter; and a host of other family members and friends.
