Obituary For Jack Jefferson Douglas, Jr.

The funeral services for the late Mr. Jack Jefferson Douglas, Jr., who departed this life on Sunday, February 1 ,2026 will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. Reverend Christopher Douglas will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.

Jack Jefferson Douglas, Jr. was born March 24, 1950 to the late Mr. Jack Jefferson Douglas, Sr., and the late Mrs. Rosa Mae Jackson Douglas in Telfair County, McCrae, Georgia. He was educated in the public school system in Turner County, Ashburn, Georgia. Our beloved was affectionately known by “Chicken”. Chicken joined the United States Army in June of 1975. Through his years of service, he worked in food service and was a motor transport operator.

During his military service, Chicken received his Driver badge, Army Commendation Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Sharpshooter badge with M-16 rifle bar; and Overseas Service Ribbon. After his honorable discharge of over ten years of service, Chicken moved to Lawton, Oklahoma. Chicken found himself traveling near and far with what he loved most. During his trucking career, South Carolina was the place he called home. Truck driving was something he did until his death. He worked for various trucking companies and delivered carnival equipment whenever it was necessary as far as the state of Florida. Chicken was a fun person to be around. His love for people and truck driving was his happy place. Although his church home is unknown, he was a true believer in the Lord. He was also a member of the Masonic Order.

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Chicken peacefully left this walk of life at home. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mrs. Ida B. Lawhorn, his brother Pastor Robert L. Douglas, Sr.

Chicken leaves cherishing memories to his children, Tony Barnard Green of Jacksonville, FL, Jackie Douglas, Dawn Lee, both of Omaha, NE; Christopher Leonard (Peggy) Douglas of Ocilla, GA.; 11 grandchildren, Ombreyan Green, Sr., Ouachita Green, Toni Green, Kimyatta Hudson, Deon Douglas, Kailen Douglas, Alesia Lee, Alayna Lee, Aiden Lee, Christopher Jordan Douglas, Centeria Williams; 10 great grandchildren, Kenyan Green, Ladyn Green, Ombreyan Green, Jr., Liam Green, A’Yurie I. Hudson, Devastain M. Davis, Jr., Ke’Rarri D. Davis; 3 great grandchildren, Deon Douglas, Jr., Ayva Douglas, Aria Douglas; his brother, Roy Lee (Katherine) Douglas of Ashburn, GA; his aunt, Rosa B. Jackson of Buena Vista, GA, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends, including his only daughter-in-law; Esther Uwaegbulam.
