Obituary For James Banks III

The funeral services for the late Mr. James Banks III, who departed this life on Thursday, June 19, 2025, will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shipp's Funeral Home Chapel, 501 W. Willingham St., Sylvester, Georgia. Reverend Ronnie Lewis Jackson will deliver the Eulogy. At the request of the family, the remains will be cremated. Mr. James Banks III was born on April 6, 1953 in Newport, Rhode Island to the late Mr. James Banks, Jr. and Mrs. Sara Banks. He was the oldest of four children: Keith Banks, Davis Banks, Daryle Banks, and Kisha Banks-Kornegay.

James was raised and educated in Wyandanch, New York, where he graduated and attended college at Old Westbury, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Programming. James also served in the United States Army.

James traveled the world to Germany, Amsterdam, and Africa while working there for a short period of time.

James was truly a remarkable man, whose life was a testament to his boundless

love and unwavering selflessness. He approached every day with an open heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting word. He genuinely loved everyone he met, extending kindness and compassion without hesitation. His greatest joy came from doing all he could for others, whether it was a grand gesture or a simple act of service. He was, in every sense, a great man whose profound impact and loving spirit will forever be cherished by all who were blessed to know him.

James was called home to Eternal Rest on June 19, 2025 to be with his loving parents, a brother, David Banks, his grandparents, along with other family members.

James leaves behind to cherish his memories two children, Janetta Banks, Derrick Glover; two grandchildren, Camila Love, Derrick Glover, Jr.; his sister, Kisha; two brothers, Keith (Eleanor) and Daryle (Beverly); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
