Mr. Johnny Edward "JB” Bell, son of the late Mr. James Willie Lee Bell & Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Boone Bell, was born on January 16, 1956, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He departed this life on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Pruitt Healthcare in Ocilla, Georgia. Johnny graduated from Turner County High School in 1974. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country for 2.5 years, leaving the Air Force with an Honorable Discharge.
Johnny was employed as a Machine Assembler with Kelley Manufacturing Company (KMC) in Tifton, Georgia for 22 years until he retired in November 2020. Down through the years, in his leisure time, Johnny would enjoy the calmness of fishing, watching westerns on television, and getting lost in crossword puzzles. Despite his declining health in the past few years, “JB” was never void of the joy that companionship from his family and friends, brought to his life.
In November 1981, Johnny reconnected with his high school classmate Veverly Hill, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on the first day of Spring, March 20, 1982. “JB” and Veverly would allow God to lead them throughout 43 years of marriage. This union created a blended family and was blessed with three daughters to nurture throughout their lives.
Johnny was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, in Ashburn, Georgia where he served as a deacon for 23 years. On Sunday, January 26, 2025, while sharing his last moments alone with his wife, Johnny slipped away from the bounds of this earth into the arms of his loving Father and Savior Jesus Christ. As we weep for “JB”, let our tears wash away the pain of his past suffering, and now we can celebrate his peaceful rest.
“JB” leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of 43 years, Veverly Dianne Bell, his children, Jackqueline L. Frederick of Ashburn, Georgia, Sebeca P. Jordan (Delbert) of Albany, Georgia, Jana Bell Davis (Frederick) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; six grandchildren; six siblings, Dorothy Dopson, of Ocilla, Georgia, Marva Bell Williams and Joe Bell Wilcox, both of Miami, FL, Alma Reddick and Tommy Bell (Sandra) both of Tifton, Georgia, and Frank Bell of Ashburn, Georgia; sister in laws Gloria Jean Martin of Ashburn, Georgia, Gwendolyn Gordon of TyTy, Georgia, Sherry Hill of Tavares, Florida, brother in laws Robert Hillmon of Clinton, Maryland, and Ray Hill (Lorenda); five aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
