The funeral services for the late Mr. Joseph Reed, Sr., who departed this life on Saturday, January 3, 2026, will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 12:00 Noon from the Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Ashburn, Georgia. Apostle Rodney Cain will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.
Joseph Christopher Reed, Sr. was born on December 24, 1964 in Orlando, Florida to Mattie Davis and the late Roscoe Reed. Joseph transitioned peacefully from this life on January 3, 2026.
Joseph, along with his older brother, moved to Ashburn, Georgia with their grandmother. He attended schools in the Turner County Public School System and was a part of the High School football team.
On May 14, 1994, Joseph was united in Holy Matrimony with Ida High. Joseph was known for his hard work ethic and loyalty to providing for his family. He worked for the Golden Peanut Company for 35 years as the Lead Man on his shift.
Joseph, along with his family, attended and was a devoted member of the House of Transformation Church (formerly known as Liberty Christian Outreach Ministries) under the leadership of Apostle Glenda McPherson.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ida Mae Reed; his only son, Joseph Reed, Jr. (Shar'Daye Shy'Lexus Reed); one grandson, Joseph Reed III ("Dookie Bug"); his mother, Mattie Davis; his brother, Marvin Reed; his aunt, Ola Coffee; his uncles, Benny Hunt (Diane Hunt), Samuel Edmondson (Tina Edmondson), and a host of other relatives, his Transformation Church family, and many, many sorrowing friends.
I had the privilege to work along side of Joseph Reed when I was working at golden peanut company he was a great supervisor and I will always cherish working with him because he showed me a lot I lift his family up I'm my prayers and he will be truly missed
