Obituary For Kevin R. "Big Toomer" Toomer

The funeral services for the late Mr. Kevin Toomer of 802 E. Palm Street, Fitzgerald, Georgia, who departed this life on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia. Mr. Kevin R. Toomer, affectionately known as “Big Toomer”, was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Patricia Fruster Toomer on August 15, 1986.

Kevin was educated in the Worth County Public School System. Kevin confessed his faith to Jesus Christ and joined the Jones Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Sylvester, Georgia, where he served as a member of the Church Choir and the Junior Usher Board. Kevin loved people and he never met a stranger. He loved to help people whenever he could.

To provide a living for his family, Kevin owned and operated a trucking company, Toomer & Son Towing and Trucking, LLC.

On Monday, April 18, 2022, God came and took Kevin’s hand and led him to his Eternal Home. His parents and a brother, Robert “Squeaky” Toomer, all preceded him in death.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memories his children, Ka’Meric Toomer, Ka’Meria Toomer, Deijenario (Raina) King, Deontana Toomer; a grandson, Janari King; his loving girlfriend, Deidra Carridine; his sisters, Princhel Gardner (Shannon McLloyd), Alissa Toomer (Raymond Holley), Brenda Toomer, Lakeisha Middlebrooks; a brother, Orlando Odister; nieces, Shambreakia Baldwin, Shantoria Baldwin, Joylisha Toomer, Leslie Odister; nephews, Tascani Toomer, James Gardner, J’Shawn Toomer; and a host of other family members and loving friends.

Viewing and Visitation will be on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
