The funeral services for the late Mr. Larry Richey of 700 Ashton Place, Apt. #701, Ashburn, Georgia, who departed this life on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at his residence, will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Shingler, Georgia. Eulogy will be given by Reverend Gwendolyn Mathis.
was born on July 15, 1952, in Worth County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Rufus and Louisa Williams Richey. He was loved by his family and friends.
At an early age, Larry joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler, Georgia. He attended public schools in Worth County. Early in his adult life, he lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where his older brother resided. Later in his life, Larry returned home to Sylvester, Georgia. He worked for the City of Sylvester for many years. In his later years, Larry moved to Augusta, Georgia with his wife and he joined Greater Young Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
On Saturday, February 12, 2022, Larry departed this life at his home. Family and friends are deeply saddened and grieved to receive the news of his passing.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mrs. Marie Richey; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Howard of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Mr. Clarence Richey of Albany, Georgia, Mr. Joseph Richey (Juanita) of Ashburn, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ceola Richey of Decatur, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
