The funeral services for the late Evangelist Mattie Louise Douglas McClinton, who departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2025, will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from The Real Church, 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Albany, Georgia. Bishop Norman G. Pierce II, Pastor, will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Union Memorial Park Cemetery in Albany, Georgia. Mrs. Mattie Louise Douglas McClinton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conyers and Foustine Douglas, was born December 9, 1940, in Sylvester, GA. She attended the public schools in Worth County and graduated from Cornell University in New York. She moved to Brooklyn, NY where she lived majority of her adult life before moving back south to Tallahassee, FL and Albany, GA. She was employed by Kings County Hospital Center, in Brooklyn, NY.
Mattie was an active member of The Real Church in Albany, GA where she was loved by many. She quietly departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Phoebe Putney Memorial in Albany, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McClinton.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: son, Jimmy McClinton of Albany, GA and daughter, Sabrinia Douglas of Byron, GA; two grandchildren, Jennica Matthews (Maxwell), Monterrious Redding, five great grandchildren, Jah’Cere McClinton, Tapharii McClinton, Maleigha Matthews, Zarriyah Redding and Ocean Redding; brother, Herbert Douglas; sister, Annie Grace Ward (Michael); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and devoted church members.
