Funeral services for the late Mr Melvin Holloman, who departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2024, will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. Apostle Jimmy L. Gardner will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mr. Melvin Holloman, affectionately known as “Uncle Jake”, was born on November 12, 1952 to the parents of the late Mr. George Terrell and the late Mrs. Jessie Mae Holloman (J. C. Holloman) of Sycamore Georgia.
In 2000, he surrendered and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Years later he answered the call to the ministry and later became Pastor of Israel’s Temple Church in Ashburn, Georgia. Due to health-related issues, he stepped down as Pastor but his faith in God never wavered. After fighting a faith filled battle, Jake entered into rest on Sunday, October 20, 2024. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Ms. Cleonia Davis, Ms. Clifford Lee Davis, Ms. Piccola Holloman, Mrs. Hattie Deese, Mrs. Elouise Evans, Mr. George Terrell, Jr., and Mr. Buster Lee Terry.
Jake leaves to cherish his memories his lovely wife Mary L. Holloman; five children, Wendell Walker, Sr. (Sandra), Bernice Martin, Melanie Carridine (Travis), all of Ashburn, Georgia, Janice Johnson of Douglas, Georgia, Faye Mack (Otis) of Unadilla, Georgia; grandchildren, Travius Carridine, Joshua Carridine, Wendell Walker, Jr. all of Ashburn, Georgia, Antonio Lewis, Sr. (Shekita) of Winter Haven, Florida, Roderick Martin (Brittany), Demetrius Martin, Shundrea Johnson, and Rajanae McCrae all of Douglas, Georgia, Marcus Byrd and Kanailah Walker, both of Cordele, Georgia, Bria Rogers of Unadilla, Georgia, Victoria Cooper of Tifton, Georgia; several great grands; loving sisters, Mae Ola Byrd of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Eloise Yancey of Ashburn, Georgia and Mary Francis Currelley of Fitzgerald, Georgia; devoted brothers, Marvin Holloman (Ida Mae) of Adel, Georgia, Freddie Williams of Ashburn Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
