Obituary For Mr. John Walker

The funeral services for the late Mr. John L. Walker of 141 Courtney Circle, Sumner, Georgia, who departed this life on Thursday. April 18. 2019 at his residence, will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Pentecostal Full Gospel Crusade Church in Poulan, Georgia, with the Reverend Joseph Adkins, Presiding, and the Reverend E. Terrell Carter delivering the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylveter, Georgia. And he said: Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord (Job 1:21) Mr. John L. Walker affectionately known as John Wesly was born on September 25, 1938 in Turner County, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. J.L and Margella Walker. John Wesley was educated in the Worth County Public School System and attended J. W. Holley High School. At an early age he confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. L. Dennard where he served as a faithful deacon until his health decline. His Faith in God gave him the strength and courage to withstand life’s obstacles and turmoil. John Wesley worked several years and retired from Terra Chemical. He enjoyed family, singing and good quartet music. He was a member of the Sylvester Male Chorus for years. On July 2, 1960 he was joined in holy matrimony to Freddie Mae Davis. To that union nine children was born. On April 18, 2019, God called his Angel home from Labor to Reward at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family at his home. Family and friends are truly saddened by his passing, but take comfort in knowing that God is still in control. Two children Christopher Walker and George Walker, a brother, Bobby Milner, sisters, Dorothy Smith, Ruby Crockett, Bernice Holley, have all preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish is memories his loving and devoted wife Mrs. Freddie Mae Davis Walker, his lovely children Teresa Lewis of Albany, Georgia; Randy Walker, Valerie Walker, Debra Jefferson, John (Buffy) Walker, Gregory (Joyce) Walker all of Sylvester, Georgia; Gloria Walker of Tifton, Georgia and Ronald Brown of St. Pete Florida; eleven sisters; Ada Brown, Willie Zell, Annie Faye, Shirley Perkins, Connie Garmon, Delosie Gary, Mary Hill, Sarita Everett, Runell (Tommy) Marlin, Earnestine Tyler, Laurastine Walker; brothers, Lawrence (Natalie) Walker and Alton (Beverly) Johnson, and George Walker; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; his sister in laws Ethel Ginn, Annette Reed, and Diane Davis; six brother in laws, Richard Davis, James Davis, Freddie Davis, Billy Davis, Tommy Lee Robertson and Robert Robertson, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends. His care-givers Kenya Hillsman and Andrea Phoebe of Hospice.
