Obituary For Mrs. Ella Roddy

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Ella Lee "Nona" Roddy of 216 E. Lee Street, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Saturday, March 11, 2019, at her residence, will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the St. Paul Baptist Church in Isabella, Georgia, with the Reverend Terrell Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia.

Mrs. Ella Lee Roddy was born on March 26, 1936, in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Bessie Jones.

Ella gave her life to Christ and joined the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Isabella, Georgia. She served faithfully as an Usher and as Mother of the Church until her health declined.

Mrs. "Nona" , as she was affectionately called, was a faithful homemaker and adored spending time with her family.

Mrs. Ella Lee Roddy honored the Master’s call on Saturday, May 11, 2019, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Roddy, Jr.; her daughter, Earlene Chester; two brothers, O.J. and Stephen Jones; two sisters, Dorothy N. Lunsford, and Ella M. Jones.

Ella leaves to cherish her loving memories eight children, Daniel Jones (Dot), Emmit Roddy (Mary Helen), Robert Roddy(Ann), Jimmy Roddy (Shirley), Tories Roddy, Sr., Nathaniel Roddy, Josie Stephens (Greg), and Judy Wilson; 28 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; a loving brother, Charlie J. Jones; dedicated in-laws, Otis, Randle (Althea), Parrie Lee, Mary Bell, Betty (Henry), Clarise, Frankie (Frank), Eva Mae (Joseph), and Shirley; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
