The funeral services for the late Mr. Ozell Barber of Atlanta, Georgia, who departed this life on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Wellstone Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Words of Comfort will be given by Reverend Tommy Barber. Services may be viewed Facebook Live from the "Shipps Funeral Home" Facebook page.
MR. OZELL "PETER" BARBER....
was born July 17, 1964 in Ashburn, Georgia to the late Mrs. Rosa Mae Barber and Mr. George McKinley.
Ozell attended school in the Turner County Public School System, and attended Turner County High School. He eventually moved to Atlanta, Georgia to build his life. Ozell was a loving father of two children, a grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a great man that would do anything for the people he loved.
On Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Wellstar Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia, Ozell answered God’s call and ended his earthly life. His mother and father, a sister, Marilyn Patterson, have all preceded him in death.
Ozell leaves to cherish his memories his beloved sons, Kewune (Shannon) Barber, Zeke Madison; granddaughters, Kayle Barber, Kensley Barber; sisters, Monzell (Sonny, Jr. ) Barber, Samantha (Arthur) Moore, Martha (Sam) Adams, Retunda (Drell) Rile, Tinessa (Donte) Richardson; brothers, Jeff McKinley, Neil (Jackie) McKinley, Kirk McKinley, Venn Robinson, Eddie Lewis Hillmon, Timothy Hillmon, Lewis Hillmon; a host of nieces and nephews, including Monisha (Christopher) Barber, Demario (Ladedra) Barber, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
