Obituary For Parrie Lee Stephens
The funeral services for the late Mrs. Parrie Lee Stephens, who departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 2026, will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the New Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia. Reverend Karl Smith, Pastor, will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery.
With heartfelt love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Mrs. Parrie Lee Roddy Stephens, who peacefully departed this life at the age of 88 on July, 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 21, 1937, in Worth County, Georgia, to Mr. Randal Roddy, Sr. and Mrs. Eva Mae Stewart Roddy, Parrie Lee lived a life defined by kindness, strength, faith and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grand mother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
At an early age, Parrie Lee met and married the love of her life, Mr. Isaac Stephens. She became a member of New Beulah Grove Baptist Church, where she gracefully served as member of the Usher Board and the Church Choir.
Parrie Lee's greatest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to nurturing, encouraging and loving those around her. Through life’s triumphs and challenges, she remained a source of wisdom, comfort and unconditional love. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcomed, and her compassion left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.
Parrie Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Isaac Stephens; her daughter Charlene Stephens-Lewis and son David Lee Stephens, Sr; grandsons David Lee Stephens, Jr and David Lee Stephens III; great-grand son Riley Jackson; sister Betty Jean Raing; and her brothers C.L. Roddy, Floyd Roddy and Johnny Roddy.
Parrie Lee leaves to cherish her sweet memories in the hearts of her three daughters Lois Stevens, Joyce Celestin both of Poulan, GA, Grace (Larry) Jackson of Calhoun, GA; two sons Johnny Ray (Yancey) Stephens of Albany, GA, James (Anne) Stephens of Cartersville, GA; 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 Great-great grandchild; five sisters Eva Mae Roddy-Hill of Sumner, GA; Shirley Drayton, Mary Roddy both of Sylvester, GA; Clarise Griffin, Frankie Mae (Frank) Hill both of Poulan, GA; two brothers Otis Roddy of Albany, GA; Randall (Althea) Roddy, Jr. of Sumner GA; five sisters-in-law; Magdalene Patterson, Annie (Clarence) Jackson, Gladys Stephens, Vicky Watkins, all of Poughkeepsie, NY, Alice (Nelson) Williams of Newburgh, NY; close friends Pauline Young, Betty Stephens and Mae Lou Marlin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
