The funeral services of the late Mr. Reginald James Alford, who departed this life on Sunday, March 22, 2026, will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Shipp's Funeral Home Chapel in Sylvester, Georgia.
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, our beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend heard a voice we could not hear; saw a light we could not see and felt a hand that we could not feel and quietly slipped away.
Reginald James Alford, affectionately known as “Nan”, was born on July 30 1969 in Worth County, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland and Ruby Lee Williams Alford. Both have preceded him in death.
Reginald was educated in the Worth County Public School System.
A beacon of light, Reginald spent his life passionate about his family and friends and was known for his “free spirit”. Nan developed many craft skills at a young age from his father, which helped shape his independence and allowed him to provide for himself throughout his life.
Cherished memories of our beloved Nan will be forever in the hearts of his children, Jermine Alford of Cordele, GA, Bryonna (Quantavious) Alford Carroll, Daktavius Tyler, both of Sylvester, GA, Jaylen (Katlyn) Jackson, Justin Jackson, both of Sylvester, GA; grandchildren, Jervatavious, Jeremiah, Haley, Holley, Jaquavion, Jo'soah, Jamarlee, Braylen (deceased), Hunter, Elijah, David, Brooklyn; bonus children, Hakima McKinney, Sharronda McKinney, Calvin McKinney, Tyre McKinney, all of Sylvester, GA; a loving sister, Ruby Jean Phillips of Sylvester/McDonough, GA; five brothers, Clifford (the late Rosie) Alford of Sylvester, GA, Bobby (Daphane) Alford, Timothy (the late Emily) Alford, both of Albany, GA; Cedric (Audrey) Alford of Snellville, GA, Eric (Opal) Alford of Hampton, GA; one “Lil Sis”, Tonia (David) Kendrick of McDonough, GA; a beloved nephew, Josh Alford of Sylvester, GA; and a host of special and dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

My Condolences To The Family and Families Dorothea Taylor
Reginald (NAN), I'm going to Always think about you and love you like I always have worrying about your well being. Even though you are my First cousin my dad's twin sister's child, all of our family grew up in a loving family as brothers and sisters. God knows everything. You knew I've always tried to stand in the GAP for Ruby Jean and Aunt Ruby Lee sometimes for the rest of your siblings. You knew we all loved you ("baby brother") I know you are in the presence of God. The Lord knows everything. I understood you well. Rest in Peace my cousin until we meet again. Toni
