The funeral services for the late Mr. Rodrick Canady, who departed this life on Friday, April 3, 2026, will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Turner County Civic Center in Ashburn, Georgia. Reverend Leroy Reynolds will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.
Rodrick Reshawn Canady (“Rory”) was born on May 27, 1978, to the late Mr. James L. Canady and Mrs. Ernestine Canady. Rory, as he was lovingly called by family and close friends, was a very kind, loving, respectful, and humble person. He truly loved his family and cherished his mother. He was her “baby of the bunch.” Rory’s boisterous laugh was his signature mark that brought joy to your heart and caused anyone in earshot to laugh also.
Rodrick was a dedicated employee of Turner County Board of Education Custodial Staff for twenty-three years. His co-workers share fond memories of Rodrick as a quiet, friendly soul who did not say much, but was a dependable worker and valued employee who consistently showed dedication in doing his job well.
Rodrick was blessed with one daughter, Kimaijhai (“Myiah”) Canady, who adored her father and one “heart adopted” son, Xamorius (“Morie”) Coley, who serves in the United States Air Force at Laughlin Airforce Base in Texas. Rodrick was very proud of Myiah and Morie and loved them unconditionally and was thankful for his special friendship with Victoria Coley.
Rodrick will be deeply missed and mourned by family and friends until we see him again in God’s heavenly realm. His life and legacy will be continually honored in our hearts, ongoing reflections, and daily conversations.
Rodrick leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Ernestine Canady; his beloved children, Kimaijhai “Myiah” Canady, Xamorius “Morie” Coley’ his siblings, Clintonia “Tony” Sanders (Lugenia) of Acworth, GA, Creginald Sanders (Patrice) of Canton, GA, Anthony Canady, Stacee Canady, both of Tifton, GA, Donovan Canady of Ashburn, GA, Betty Jenkins of Tifton, GA; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews to cherish his memory and honor his life including the Turner County School’s custodial staff.
