Obituary For Sara Louise Jordan

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Sarah Jordan who departed this life on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Pruitt Healthcare in Sylvester, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 12:00 Noon from the Shepard Memorial Garden in Sylvester, Georgia. Mrs. Sara Louise Jordan was born on April 18, 1941, in Worth County, Georgia to the late Mr. J.W. Austin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Willie Florence Austin.

Sara was educated in the Worth County Public School System. She was a devoted member of Springhill Baptist church before joining 2nd Mt. Zion Baptist Church (The Rock Church), Albany, Georgia, under the guidance of Reverend Theodis Drake, where she served until her health declined.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Andrew Jordan. Their union was blessed with nine children.

On January 16,2022, while a resident at Pruitt Health in Sylvester, Georgia, God saw that His servant was weary and needed rest so He called her into Eternal Rest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jordan, her parents J.W. Sr. and Willie F. Austin, a son, Gerry Keith Jordan, two brothers, Monroe Austin and Robert Austin, and two sisters, Johnnie Mae Tyler and Brenda Jones.

Survivors include her children, Charlie Austin of Sylvester, Georgia, Emmitt Austin, Willie James Jordan, Kevin Jordan, Patrick Jordan, Mary (Cedric) Jackson, all of Albany Georgia, Brenda (Elijah) Ellison of Leesburg, Georgia, Jimmy (Marlene) Jordan of Moultrie, Georgia; a stepdaughter, Curlie (Donnie) Gray of Belle Glade, Florida; three sisters, Nancy Austin, Willie Florence Austin, who was a devoted and loving caring caretaker, both of Sylvester, GA, Pearlie Austin (Melvin Henderson) of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, John Austin of Pahokee, Florida; a nephew she reared as her own, Charles(Margaret Anne) Jordan of Moultrie, Georgia; and her devoted grandchildren who she was instrumental in rearing, Shilauntia Jordan, Kenyell Jordan, Diaundra Jackson, Thaddeus Smith, and Rodrick Thomas. She also leaves to cherish her memory 59 grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
