“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” – I John 4:7-8
Sherry Ann Lewis was born on July 14, 1959, in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John L., Sr. and Susie Thomas Lewis. Sherry was dearly loved by her family and by her extended Frazier family, who took excellent care of her for over 24 years. She attended Bright Morning Star Baptist Church with the only mama she knew after her biological mother, Susie, passed away early in her life—Mrs. Anna.
Sherry enjoyed attending the day center in Albany, Georgia, dressing up for different events, going on car rides with niece, Courtnie, during the holidays, and enjoying good home-cooked meals. If you weren’t careful, Sherry might take your plate and enjoy your food without you even noticing!
On July 31, 2025, God called His earthly angel home from labor to reward at the Willson Hospice House, where she was surrounded by her loved ones. While her family is deeply saddened by her passing, they take comfort in knowing that God makes no mistakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings John L. Lewis Jr., Judy Clinton, Sarah Moore Jones, and Brenda Gail Lewis Richardson; her nephews Felton Richardson, Jr., Kowalski Lewis; and her niece Shondalette Richardson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted and loving bonus mom, Mrs. Anna Frazier of Albany, Georgia; her siblings Charles Lewis (Bennie Mae) of Albany, Georgia, Anita Brown (Robert) of Sylvester, Georgia, Geraldine McKnight of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, David Lewis (Schrita) of Tifton, Georgia, Ricky Lewis, Sr. (Bertha) of Columbus, Georgia, Annette Billington (Sukwa), Gwendolyn Lewis, Ethel Brown (Arthell), Michael Moore, and Jeremy Blake, all of Sylvester, Georgia; bonus siblings Zenja Evans, Rickie Frazier, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jarrett Frazier of Albany, Georgia; her adopted sister Rosetta Dunham of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Lora Lewis and Diane Lewis; her caring, special nieces Courtnie Walker, Breosha Toomer, and Ny’Keycia Walker; her nephew Tobias Brown; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
To the Lewis family, I am so sorry for your lost and I pray God will comfort you all during this difficult time.
