The funeral services for the late Mr. Troy Lee Walker, who departed this life on Sunday, February 9, 2025, will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church, Ashburn, Georgia. Reverend Christopher Douglas will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery, Ashburn, Georgia. Troy Lee Walker, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born January 9, 1961 in Ashburn, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. Fred Hamilton and the late Mrs. Addie Lee Walker.
Troy gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined the New Mount Olive Baptist Church. He attended schools in the Turner County Public School System. Troy, being very athletic and loving sports as he did, played football for Turner County High School. He graduated from high school in 1979, and shortly afterward graduation, Troy joined the Army National Guard.
Mr. Troy Lee Walker of Ashburn, Georgia transitioned to his Heavenly home on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Pruitt Healthcare in Sylvester, Georgia.
Troy leaves to cherish his memories his only child, Sarenna (Nicholas) Schoen of Tifton, GA; five grandchildren, Jasmine Flinn, Brook Flinn, Kristen Flinn, Devon Flinn, Iyanah Flinn; five great grandchildren; seven sisters, Joylene B. (John) Reid, Susie A. (Kenny) Walker, Monica L. (Anthony) Young, Brenda (David) McEady, Gloria (Hayward) Teague, Zenova (Harry) Rainey, Bernice Clark; five brothers, Bobby P. (Sonia) Walker, Timothy A. (Josephine) Bell, Michael A. (Kathy) Bell, Edward A. Walker, Landy Thorpe; four aunts, Luella Lawson, Katherine Daniels, Feltine Cross, Vetta (Hubert) Taylor; three uncles, Clay (Daisy) Walker, Ben (Lue) Walker, Terry (Felicia) Walker, his godson, Quantrail Ezell; a very special friend, Gwendolyn Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
To his family and friends, Troy Lee Walker, better known as “Jerry Springer”, was a very fun, loving, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother uncle, and friend, that everyon will miss deeply. We know that God does not make mistakes and in His power and His will, our lives will take it’s course. In knowing this, as painful as it may be, we must accept. God’s will.
