The funeral services for the late Mr. Tyrone Wilkes, of 516 E. 7th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, who departed this life on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Piedmont Macon Medical Hospital in Macon, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia, with the Reverend Dwayne L. Daniels, Pastor of the Beulahland Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia, officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mr. Tyrone Wilkes was born on October 30, 1958 in Ashburn, Georgia to the late Mr. Oknell Scott and the late Mrs. Annie Lee Wilkes Kendrick
Tyrone was educated in the Turner County Public School System and graduated from Turner County High School.
Tyrone worked as a truck driver for Griffin Grading and Concrete in Cordele, Georgia. He gave his life to Christ and joined the Beulahland Baptist Church of Cordele, Georgia.
Tyrone was united in Holy Matrimony to Janine Chalotin.
Tyrone heard the Master’s Call to come and take his rest on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Piedmont Macon Medical Hospital in Macon, Georgia. His parents, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe and Ruby Wilkes, five brothers and a sister have all preceded him in death.
Tyrone leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Janine C. Wilkes; his sons, Steven Wilkes, Rondell Wilkes; his daughters, Dorothy Edwards (David), Lawaii Wilkes, Latoya Nesmith (Marvin Tolbert); grandchildren, Lamont Bryant, Jr., Davonta Johnson, Tamorrion Terry, Fredrick Davenport, Jacqavious Clines, Da’Jonua Wilkes, Keon’vay Clark, Ji'Shavious Coleman, Treasure Tolbert; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Jessie M.(L. D.) Wilkes Buchannon, Betty Graddic, Sharon Scott; brothers, Larry (Angela) Wilkes, Luke Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing/visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
