The funeral services for the late Mrs. Willie Bell Sumler, who departed this life on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Zion Hope Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Willie Bell Sumler was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Ethel Green on February 21, 1936 in Sylvester, Georgia.
Willie Bell was a very hard worker and wore many hats to include working at Turner County High Cafeteria, Ashburn Healthcare Nursing Home and retiring from Coats & Clark.
Willie Bell was an active member of Evangelistic Tabernacle Family Outreach Center of Vienna, Georgia under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Arthur West. Throughout the years she has served faithfully as a Praise Team member, Choir member, and Sunday School Superintendent.
“Mother Sumler”, as she was affectionately known was regarded for her spirited personality. She was outspoken, yet nurturing; strong, but delicate.
Mother Willie Bell Sumler took an angel by the hand on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia, and entered Eternal Rest. She was preceded in death by her parents Tom Green and Ethel Green; one child, Jeorline Daniels; four grandchildren, Dewayne Sumler, Raymond Lane Jr., Jalisa Lane, Shakonica Crockett; seven siblings, Johnny Green, Jessie Bell Revely, Bertha Mae Thomas, T.J. Green, Robert Green, Emmitt Green, Annlee Green.
Willie Bell leaves to cherish her memories her loving children, Johnny Ferguson of West Palm Beach, Florida, Lorene West (Arthur) of Arabi, Georgia, Frank Daniels (Bernice) of Albany, Georgia, Walter McElroy (Leslie) of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Charlie Mae Sumler of Griffin, Georgia, Barbara Lundy of Dothan, Alabama and Raymond Lane, Sr. of Ashburn, Georgia; her beloved siblings, J.W. (Ethel), Gene, Elijah, George, Wessie Mae, Catherine (Johnny), Quincy, Aretha, Jamel, Joe, Tom, Jody, Rose and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
