I will truly miss VAl, I hadn't known her very long but we were becoming close and enjoyed talking and praying together. We laughed together and lifted our families up in prayer. I loved her teaching style. She was a caring and passionate person. Though I don't understand why she is gone so soon, We can know that our father God is sovereign and she is rejoicing at rest with him. Barbara Skinner & family

Dr. Miller what an honor and privilege it's been as your student. You were more than a Professor but a mentor and a very influential person in this season of my life. You inspired me to not just go back to school for a new job but the importance of being educated. You encouraged me to pick my dreams back up and seeing your title change to Doctor Miller was outstanding. I was so happy for you and honored to call you Dr. Miller. I remember hearing from a speaker that your life is defined by the "dash". Thank you for being a bright light in my life and helping me to pursue my purpose. I hope the degrees I receive, along with many others will make you proud and know how much we appreciate you. My deepest condolences to your children & family. Thank you for sharing her will all of us. May God bring you all peace & comfort during this difficult time. Reat in Paradise Dr. Miller❤️ Latosha, student

Dr. Miller came into my life when I was getting started into college at MTC. I remember my first day in her class, and her warm presence was contagious. When I was struggling with an assignment, she would message me her zoom meeting times just so we could work 1-1 together. It showed just how much she was devoted to her students, and committed to teaching. I will always remember her beautiful smile and positive spirit. She always would give 110% to those she taught. I am in tears. Dr. Miller will forever and always be in my heart as the best professor I had starting my college career.
I love and Miss you Dr. Miller. With love, Grace Beasley (student)
I only knew Dr. Miller for a semester and a half but it felt like I had known her for a long time. She made it easy to transition into her classes and make you feel welcome. My condolences to the Miller Family, She was a true woman of God and phenomenal instructor. I had the pleasure of sitting under her as student. We talked about an assignment that the Lord had given me that I had question, but I completed the assignment and Dr. Miller told me that I would be blessed for that.
To her children and grandchildren that was her heart I know this is tough but hold onto God's unchanging hands. Karen Goodwin(student)
My condolences to her children and her grandchildren. I'm in tears right now because, shes my inspiration to keep going on to pursue my goals. It was a blessing for me to be able to let her know she's the reason I didn't give up on myself and my academic career. As an African American female myself, she made me believe anything I thought was impossible,is possible. And I will forever keep her in heart and thoughts. She'd just received her doctrine, which she worked so hard for! God called her home. Her legacy will never be forgotten Thank you Dr. Miller. If not for you I don't know where I'd be. Rest In Paradise. Whitney S.Roberts (student)
Dr. Miller was my mentor, and her loss will be felt among the MTC family. I met Dr. Miller three semesters ago, and she was more than a professor to me. Her personality shined brightly, and she loved teaching. Dr. Miller was more than an instructor to all her students, and she encouraged her students with her godly, beautiful spirit. Dr. Miller took her time to helped her students achieve their goals. Dr. Miller will be the reason that I will walk down the stage and graduate. She took her time to encourage me during the most challenging period of my life. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Miller. My deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren that she loved dearly. She spoke highly about her family.
I was so saddened to hear of Val's passing. What a kind and beautiful person she was. I can only imagine how much her students loved learning from her and the lifelong lessons from her they will carry with them always. She and I talked in the Spring about her teaching BUS 130 Business Communications once she finished her PhD, which she had just done! I was truly looking forward to working with her more in the future. Please know how much her Business students and the faculty of MTC's Business Programs will truly miss her. Valerie was a special person and an exceptional instructor. I was looking forward to addressing her as Doctor the next time I saw her on campus at Midlands Tech. If knowledge is the seeds of change planted in the minds of students, then Dr. Miller planted many many trees over her career. I have not known her long, but in that time, she made a lasting impression. God bless Valarie and her family. May He provide strength for the day and light for the way. With Deepest Sympathies, Angela Stallings, Director of Accounting Programs, Midlands Technical College
