Memorial services for Mr. Charles Edward Johnson, 66, of Orangeburg, SC, will be held 1:00pm, Friday, December 19, 2025, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.

Charles Edward Johnson was born on November 13, 1959 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He departed this earth December 13, 2025, after an extended, but well fought illness.

Charles completed his formal education within the Orangeburg County School District receiving his GED. Charles was a completer of the Job Corp. USA program. Charles received certifications in various areas from the Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College. Charles was self employed as a sub contractor, working as a general carpenter, painter and an artist. Charles enjoyed (in his younger days) going fishing, playing basketball, shooting the breeze with his friends and watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers during football season. Charles was a man of small conversations, a simple man that didn’t mind doing things his way. Most importantly he loved helping others.

He joins in enteral rest both parents, Hosea and Fannie Mae Johnson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two children, son Justin Bradley of Orangeburg, SC; daughter Courtney Shanta’ Johnson of Orangeburg, SC. Four grandchildren, Khamari Coulter, Niyla Highsmith , Hailee Highsmith and Cristen Edwards. Two sisters, Marie (Hubert) Colter and Da’Jannae Johnson. Three brothers, Samuel (Tina) Sharpenson, Michael (Mary) Johnson, and Donald (Darleen) Johnson. And a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no public viewing. The family will received friends at the funeral home Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4-6pm.
