Mr. David Hose, 78, of Cordova, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at MUSC Health-Orangeburg, with his girlfriend, Sandy, by his side.
Funeral services will be held at a later date, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.
David accepted Christ and was a man of great faith.
He also served honorably in the United State Navy, where he served on Naval Carrier Valley Forge in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
David was a lover of nature and the great outdoors. He would find any excuse to go fishing, camping, boating or hiking.
He was also an avid gardener and had the best roses in the neighborhood. He was extremely proud of both flower and vegetable gardens. He enjoyed family vacations to North Carolina, family game nights and reunions at Craftsman Park.
David was an auto body technician by trade. He was a lover of Chevys and Nascar, which he shared with his late son, David II. He also loved to spend time working on the Volks Wagon Bettle and Monte Carlos. He had a great eye for details and spent countless hours in the garage working on cars, soapbox derbies and pinewood derbies with his children.
As much as he loved his family, he also loved to socialize. He loved live music, dancing and having a good time. David never met a stranger and enjoyed grilling and feeding people. He had a wonderful sense of humor that will be greatly missed by all who knew his.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, David Allen Hose II; his parents; and siblings: Lois and Bill.
David is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Sandy Mair; bonus son, Steven Mair and his fiancé; and four grandchildren.
He is also survived by Kathy Hose, his former wife and mother of his three children; son, Robert Hose; daughter, Natalie (Hose) David; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren (with one on the way); brother, Wayne; his loving dog companions; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
