Obituary For Mr. J.C. "Dusty" Edmond

Funeral services for Mr. J.C. “Dusty” Edmond will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Antioch Baptist Church, 52 Antioch Road, St. Matthews, with the Rev. Louis C. Williams Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. JC Edmond, Sr., the son of the late Eartha “Tug” Lee Hardy, Sr. and Lizzie Edmond, was born March 3, 1940 in Calhoun County, South Carolina. He departed earth for his heavenly home on October 16, 2019.

JC was educated in the public schools of Calhoun County.

He retired from Jackson Elders Steel where he was a welder for many years and known for his BBQ grill craftsmanship.

JC accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he was member of the male choir.

JC was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: Mammie Lou Howell, Sallie Kimpson, Eloise Glover, Freddie Edmond and Eartha Lee Hardy, Jr.

JC leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth B. Edmond of St. Matthews, SC; daughter, Lizzie E. (Willie) Brown of St. Matthews, SC; three sons: Hercules (Jacqueline) Benjamin, David (Dorothy) Benjamin, and JC Edmond, Jr., all of St. Matthews, SC; sister, Edna Pearl Jones of St. Matthews, SC; three brothers: Johnnie (Bessie Lou) Edmond and James (Mary) Edmond both of St. Matthews, SC and Herbert Edmond of Darlington, SC; sister-in-law, Bertha Mosely; two brothers-in-law: Larry Young and George Fields, Sr both of St. Matthews, SC; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 19, at Simmons Funeral Home.

Mr. Edmond passed away on Wednesday, October 16, at his residence.

Friends may call at the residence of his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Edmond, 164 Myers Lane, St. Matthews, or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
