Funeral services for Mr. John Walker, 61, of 209 Boney Road, Blythewood, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, with interment to follow in Belleville Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Charles Furguson is officiating.
Mr. John Fitzgerald Walker was born on March 11, 1961, to James A. Walker, Sr. and the late Celia Mae Dash Walker in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He departed his earthly journey on Thursday, April 21, 2022, surrounded by family at his residence in Blythewood, South Carolina.
At a young age he joined Andrew Chapel Baptist Church and was member of the Young Adult Choir.
John (formerly of Orangeburg, South Carolina) was educated in the public school of Orangeburg County and graduated from Orangeburg Wilkinson High School in 1979. While growing up he has a passion for football and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. While attending school he played football and after graduating, he helped coach B-Team Football. He was employed at Greenwood Mills and Budweiser of Orangeburg, South Carolina.
John and Danyel were married on July 11, 2009, and that union was joined with his stepson, Jaylin.
John precious memories will be cherished by his loving wife, Danyel Wright Walker; stepson Jaylin Stevens, of Columbia South Carolina; two grandchildren, Aaliyah Stevens of Camden, South Carolina and Jaylin Stevens, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina; father, James Walker, Sr.; two brothers, James (Vernetta) Walker, Jr. and Stanley Walker; one sister, Licinia (Donald) Kearse all of Orangeburg, South Carolina; a dedicated and devoted mother-in-law, Debra McQueen of Bythewood, South Carolina; three brothers-in-law, Barry Wright, Curtis (Audrey) Wright, and Tony Wright; one sister-in-law, Kenya McQueen of Spartanburg, South Carolina; special and dedicated nephew and niece, Donald Kearse, II of Columbia, South Carolina and Janae L. Kearse of Snellville, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mr. Walker passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
