John Keller was born on September 18, 1947, in Elloree, South Carolina, to the late John William, and Essie Fogle. He was lovingly adopted and raised by his mother and step father, Paul Fogle Jr. On May 28, 2025, John was called home to be with the Lord while at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey. At an early age, John gave his life to Christ and joined Red Hill Baptist Church in Santee, South Carolina. He graduated from Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina, and began his working life briefly at the Shulers Farm before relocating to New York in 1966 to live with his beloved aunts, Flossie and Edith. Upon his move to New York, John joined Second Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Felix Johnson. He was an active and a devoted member of the Inspiration Choir. That same summer, he met the love of his life, Martha Ree Willis, while attending Data Processing classes in New York City.
Their bond grew strong, and on June 26, 1971, John and Martha were united in holy matrimony; from this union, they were blessed with three children: Michael, Pamela, and Jason.
John was a man of intellect and ambition. He worked as a programmer at Payne Webber and shared his knowledge by teaching data processing classes on Saturdays, also taking classes for Computer System Analyst at New York University. Later, he transitioned into real estate with Coldwell Banker, where his dedication and professionalism earned him the Prestigious Bronze Star Seller Award. After 24 years of a fulfilling and successful career, John retired with pride in all he accomplished.
John was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Michael and Jason; his brother, Charles; his parents; and sisters: Mary Mckelvie-Green and Joann Franklin-Sheard. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 54 years, Martha Keller of Englewood, New Jersey; his loving daughter, Pamela (Tristian) William of Montezuma, Georgia; His cherished daughter-in-law, Brittany Keller of Englewood, New Jersey; three adored grandchildren: Addison, Aubrielle, and Austin Keller all of Englewood, New Jersey; his brother, Alfonso (Bobbie) Fogle of Santee, South Carolina; his sisters: Essie Marie Washington and Sandra Fogle of Santee, South Carolina, Johnnie Mae (Willie) Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; two beloved aunts; Flossie Gladson of Bronx, New York, and Edith Keller of Elloree, South Carolina; his brother-in-law: Charles Allen of Montezuma, Georgia; his sisters-in-law; Betty Engram of Montezuma, Georgia, and Mary Washington of Cocoa, Florida; his goddaughter, Shaquana Stevens of Connecticut; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends.
