Funeral Services for Mr. Lawrence A. Green, 71, of Orangeburg, will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg SC. Interment will follow at St. Stephens United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Lawrence Alvin Green ,71, affectionately known as “Lad” was born October 18, 1951 to Martha Murrell and the late Collie Milhouse, Jr. in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Lawrence departed this life on Monday, February 20, 2023.
Lawrence was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg, County and graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1969. He was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church.
Lawrence was a hard working self-taught man. He was a farmer and truck driver for Milwood Farm since his teenage years. He loved spending time with family and friends, listening to oldie but goodies and watching old western films.
Preceding Lawrence in death was his father, Collie Milhouse Jr., sister Carolyn Baker; brother Amos Milhouse and grandparents Adam and MayEllen Green.
Lawrence leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 51 years, Maggie Y. Green of the home; daughter Katrina L. Green (Rondell) of the home; son, Richard A. Yon (Angela) of Orangeburg, SC; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; mother and stepfather; Martha and Milton Murrell of Orangeburg, SC; four brothers, Daryl Dash of New Jersey; Kevin Milhouse and Charles Milhouse of Orangeburg, SC and Bernard Green of Sparta, GA; three sisters – in- law; Catherine Toland, Sylvia Yon and Marie Yon all of North, SC; three brothers-in-law; Harry Yon of North, SC, James Yon of Orangeburg, SC and Calvin Yon of St. Matthews, SC and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, from 1:00pm – 6:00pm.
Family and friends may visit the residence, 163 Community Park Road, Orangeburg or call Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg, SC.
