Funeral services for Mr. Malachi Myers, 82, of Orangeburg, SC, will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2022, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC, with interment to follow in St. Stephen United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Malachi Myers was born May 24, 1940 in Orangeburg, SC to the late James Myers and Dency Hibbler Myers. Malachi departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2022 at his residence.
Malachi was affectionately known as Billy, Helly and Mr. Myers. He graduated from James Monroe High School in Bronx, NY. He then met and married Anna L. Harris Myers in 1964. They were married for 56 years. He worked for Gerli & Company in New York City for over 30 years and retired in 1995. In 2014, he moved back to Orangeburg, SC with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna L. Myers, his parents, James and Dency Myers; and his two brothers, Marty and Twymon Myers. Malachi leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Clara Myers of Richmond, VA and Claudine Myers of Orangeburg, SC; one son, Douglas J. Myers of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers, Michael R. (Deborah) Myers of Orangeburg, SC and Eugene (Sylvia) Wright of Long Island, NY; one sister, Terry Reilly; two grandchildren, Evander B. Casper III of Orangeburg, SC and Jaiyamoira Myers of Kissimmee, FL, and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

I was so sad to hear about the loss of your father. Sending prayers your way. I know you have a lot of great memories of him — I hope they comfort you. I'll always remember him as a kind, thoughtful man. He went out of his way to help so many people and left a great legacy. My condolences to the family. I'm here if you need me.
