Funeral services for Mr. Marvin Bonaparte, 58, of Orangeburg, SC, will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Simmons Funeral Home Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC with interment to follow in the Belleville Memorial Gardens, 2900 Belleville Road, Orangeburg, SC. Rev. Dr. Charcey N. Priester is officiating.
Marvin Bonaparte, the son of Cullie and Helen Gooden Bonaparte, was born January 7, 1963 in Manhattan, New York. He gained his wings on July 10, 2021 at Kershaw Medical Center.
Marvin was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and was a graduated of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. Post graduation, he attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, where he received his Associate's Degree.
Marvin worked security for a privately owned company as well as Husqvarna Outdoor Products for many years, until his death.
Marvin accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized, and was a long-standing member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Orangeburg, SC.
Marvin also had a love for sports and played softball for several teams in Orangeburg.
Marvin was preceded in death by his grandparents: the late Nathan & Marie Gooden and the late Isaiah & Elizabeth Bonaparte; and one brother, Raymond Bonaparte.
Marvin leaves to cherish fond memories, his parents; one daughter, Whitney Bonaparte of Orangeburg, SC; two sons: Mydrell Bonaparte of Orangeburg, SC and Marquis Bonaparte of Summerville, SC; five sisters: Doris Redd, Gloria Bonaparte, Cotrina (Jerry) Robinson and Stephanie (Marion) Boyd all of Orangeburg, SC and Tonya Reid of Charlotte, NC; tow adopted brothers: Jerry (Tosha) Moody of Orangeburg, SC and Marvin Hunter of Philadelphia, PA; one brother raised in the home, Johnny (Renee) Dantzler; six grandchildren: Kenderius Pauling, Kamaurion Pauling, Mar'Laja Bonaparte and Taelyn Goodwin all of Orangeburg, SC, MyDerin Bonaparte of Atlanta, GA and A'Miyah Bonaparte of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friends and family may call the residence of his parents, Cullie and Helen Bonaparte, 1891 Atlantic Avenue, Orangeburg, SC or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.

Cynthia & I just heard of our dear Marvin passing as Whitney came by to tell us today. My prayers are with the entire Bonaparte Family. Now another T C Star is above watching and guiding us. I know him and Danny were yelling during that playoff game tonight (both routing for the opposite team ðĪŠ)!! May you all gain strength through the seconds, minutes, hours, etc to come. Marvin so sorry to hear of your passing. Marvin really did have a beautiful heart. I will always remember all the laughs, jokes and good times you shared with our family.
