Funeral services for Mr. Morgan Anthony Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at Hickory Hill Baptist Church, 4623 Neeses Highway, Neeses, with the Rev. Darrell Waymyers and Bishop Terry McCaskell officiating.
Mr. Morgan Anthony Johnson, the son of the Vernell Jonson an.cl the late Morgan L. Jefferson, was born on August 27, 1982 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Anthony fell asleep in Jesus on October 14, 2019.
Anthony was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church. After relocating his family to Greenville, they worshipped and fellowshipped at Mt. Sinai World Outreach.
Anthony attended the Public Schools of Orangeburg Comity, and was a 2000 graduate of Edisto High School. Later, he enrolled at ITT Technical College. Anthony was employed as a CMM Programmer with Minghua USA.
Antney," as he was called by his family and close friends, enjoyed life! He cherished family time, loved drawing, was passionate about customizing cars and competing in car shows." Antney" was also a die-hard Carolina Panthers fan.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Morgan L. Jefferson.
Loving memories will forever linger in the hearts and minds of his wife and truelove, Twayneke S. Johnson of the home; his delightful, beautiful children: son, Marquez A. T. Johnson and daughter, M'Niyah T. Johnson; darling mother, Vernell Johnson of Greenville, SC; beloved sisters, Yojuana Johnson of Greenville, SC, Tameka Jefferson and Brandi Jefferson of Baltimore, MD; caring brother, Quincy Smith of Washington, DC; mother-in-law, Shelia Brown of Orangeburg, SC; fatherin-law, Larry Fine of Greenville, SC; sister-in-law, Moesha Wolfe of Orangeburg, SC; godmother, Deborah Johnson of Orangeburg, SC; a special niece reared in the home, DeQuana Huggins; ten other loving nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Doris Burgess; a host of loving aunts and uncles; close knitted cousins; loyal friends, Keemon Cloud, Damond Huggins and Eddie Morgan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Anthony will forever be remembered for his charming, infectious smile.
The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Simmons Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, at his residence.
Friends may call at the residence of his aunt, Ms. Deborah Johnson, and his wife, Mrs. Twayneke Johnson, at 115 Hilly Drive, Orangeburg, or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
To the Family of Ms. Vernell Johnson. I am sending you my deepest condolences. I recently found out about your son through a Co-worker of ours from the SCDC. I am sure you remembered me from CMCI prior to retiredment. You had such a sweet and humble spirit, and i am sure your son had all the same equalities. I have never meet him but I lost my son five years ago and God is alwsys in control; He never sleep nor slumber. I am sure you will find healing in Do- seasons.
