Randy Howard passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 in Asheville, NC. He was born on January 12, 1968 in Sumter, SC.
He graduated from Sumter High School in 1986, where he was a standout basketball player. He graduated from Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC with a B.S degree in Recreational Therapy. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He worked in the medical field for over 25 years and had a passion for helping others.
Randy was a loving father and was preceded in death by his daughter, Lauryn Howard; adopted father, Rev. Horton Howard; and his maternal grandparents, Deacon Otis and Thelma D. Hodge.
He is survived by his mother, Bettie H. Wilkins (Phillip) of Surfside Beach, SC; father Isaiah Johnson (Teresa) of Columbia, SC; three brothers Horton C. Howard (Hanika) of Orange Park, FL, Travis I. Howard (Kimberly) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Irick Johnson of Columbia, SC; three nephews JONAS, Micah and Kyeson Howard, two nieces Iyana Grace and Neriyah Faith Howard and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home of Thelma Hodge, 3065 Dwyer Road, Sumter, SC, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the same address from 12:00 -2:00 PM.

I am so sorry for the loss of such an amazing, passionate and loving man. Randy was in my life for many, many years and the love I had for him never compared to any other love.
